About reverb

In recent years, technologies in the field of creating spatio-temporal effects have improved significantly, and we can talk about significant progress in this area. We owe this progress to scientific research in the field of acoustics and psychoacoustics, the development of new methods for synthesizing sound space and new reverberation algorithms.

Reverb (from the Latin word re-verberatus, “re-strike”) is the process of continuing sounding after the end of a sound pulse or oscillation, due to reflections of sound waves from surfaces. Therefore, reverberation takes place only in enclosed spaces, although under special conditions some of its types can also occur in half-open space (for example, in a stadium, city square, narrow mountain gorge, etc.). We Continue reading

An enhancer, an exciter and a tube amplifier – what is common?

Exciter (from the English Exciter), also called a harmonic exciter (harmonic exciter), psychoacoustic processor (psychoacoustic processor), enhancer and enhancer (aural exciter) is a processing device used for the harmonious synthesis of high-frequency signals, using thin harmonic distortion.

This harmonic synthesis consists in creating higher harmonics based on lower signal frequencies. Typically, noise is present in different frequency bands in unequal amounts, and harmonics obtained from a clean frequency band will be clearer. Less commonly, exciters (enhancers) are used to synthesize low-frequency harmonics in order to simulate deep bass.

Initially, exciters were made on the basis of tube amplifiers, but now they exist in the form of digital processors. Continue reading

The mysteries of a beautiful voice

Today I would like to touch upon a question related to the timbre, beauty and harmony of our voice. It is often said that a woman loves with her ears, and a man loves with her eyes. But I have a feeling that everyone loves with their ears, and with their eyes, selectively, aesthetes and especially spoiled lovers of beauty.

So, the voice is important for everyone, especially for singers. And for ordinary people – not musicians – the beauty of the voice is also important, because it depends on whether your speech is harmonious or not, whether the girl loves you or not, whether the director is sympathetic or if you don’t like him right away, if Continue reading
