ALL OUR PRODUCTS HAVE THE MAXIMUM AUSTRALIAN UPF50+ RATING. NO EXCEPTIONS.All fabrics have some ability to block UV radiation but laboratory testing is needed to tell how useful different fabrics are for sun protection by measuring the Ultra-violet Protection Factor or “UPF” rating for the fabric. Multiple factors that contribute to the UPF rating of a fabric include: composition of the yarn, tightness of the weave or knit, colour, stretch, moisture, condition, and finishing.
The Australian Government, with no exceptions, independently completes all of the Solbari fabric testing. We submit for testing every colour, in every fabric and we do this every time we produce a new yarn.
We only manufacture Solbari garments once our fabric has been certified with the maximum Australian rating of UPF50+.
