I love eatingpieall year round, but there's something extra special about it this time of year. During the busy holidays, I rely on simple, no-bake recipes for my family to enjoy.

One of our favorites is thischocolate peanut butter pie. To change it up, I used Nutter Butter cookies, white chocolate pudding, and white chocolate peanut butter cups.

When it comes to desserts, I usually go for dark chocolate. But there's something about the white chocolate mousse in this peanut butter pie that I can't resist.

This peanut butter pie with pudding is made quickly using simple ingredients.

  • Nutter Butter Crust- Use crushed nutter butter cookies and butter to make a 9-inch pie crust. Other delicious options are anOreo cookie crustorpretzel pie crust.
  • Cream Cheese- Full-fat cream cheese will give you the best taste and texture. Set it out 30 minutes before making the pie filling.
  • Powdered Sugar- Sweetens the no-bake filling.
  • Peanut Butter- Feel free to use creamy or crunchy.
  • Cool Whip- One container of thawed whipped topping is enough for all the layers. Feel free to use heavy cream and powdered sugar to make homemadewhipped cream.
  • Instant Pudding- Use a single small box to make the pudding layer. Do not buy the cook & serve! We usually look for white chocolate, but cheesecake or vanilla pudding mix are suitable substitutes.
  • Milk- Choose a cow's milk that has a higher fat content. I recommend whole milk, but 2% will work, too.
  • White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups- The minis are the perfect size to decorate the top of a pie.

Would I be able to freeze this and just pull it out of the freezer a couple of hours before serving?

I have not tried freezing this pie, but I think it would be fine. Just thaw it in the refrigerator before serving it. I hope you enjoy it!

How long does it take to chill the milk/pudding mixture? I've had it in the fridge for a couple hours now and it's not getting much thicker. Thanks!

    Reply

    • Jocelyn

The pudding and milk mixture only needs to chill for about 5 minutes. It will thicken pretty much instantly because you are not using the full amount of milk that the box calls for. How much milk did you use? If you did 1 cup of milk, you are fine to fold the Cool Whip in and spread on the pie. I hope that helps!

I read the recipe ingredients three times. I've never heard of peanut butter creamed cookie crumbs. Is that a cookie that's been ground up?

Yes, I used a peanut butter cream filled peanut butter cookie. You could use Nutter Butter cookies...I think I used a store brand just like it.

Love the flavors in there. We try and decorate after Thanksgiving too. We got our tree on Sunday and I decorated the house on Tuesday. All that's left is the lights outside, which may have to be done in the rain. 🙁
