"A great throw-together lowfat meal. (2 WW points). Freezes well for make-ahead lunches. Sometimes I add garbanzo beans. This is from the Secrets of Lowfat Cooking cookbook, a great resource."

This was a great lentil chili! I added in carrots and a little green onion. I also used cayenne pepper instead of the chili powder. And I also added in some cooked chicken because my boyfriend said he needed to have some kind of meat with his meal. Loved the recipe and will make this again!

this really is great. i used black beans in place of corn (because that's what i had on hand, but i am sure corn would be good in there, too) and garam masala instead of allspice. plus, i added some cayenne pepper and picante sauce in order to liven it up. taste explosion.

I added about 2 cups of trimmed tri-tip meat to this. DH thought he'd like it beter w/ two 14.t ozcans of petit cut tomatoes and only 8 oz. of tomato sauce. Otherwise, I used all the stated ingredients, but I sautéed the onlion, bell pepper and garlic before adding the rest. We liked it very much, overall. It's interesting to me that DH says he doesn' like lentils, but so far all the lentil things I've mae from Food.com recipes....he likes just fine.

this was pretty awesome. i used low sodium chicken broth, and added carrots instead of the green pepper. i also only used half the chili powder, though i think i'm going to use the full amount next time. the result was delicious! it did take a bit longer than the directions state.

Easy and tasty! I used chicken broth, subbed 2 fresh tomatoes and 100 g of tomato paste for the sauce, and used only 1,5 ts of my extra hot chili powder (it is very, *very* hot - I wouldn't hesitate to use 2 tbls of my regular milder chili mix in this!). Just right! Thanks for a lovely recipe!

So easy to make and so yummy. Like the person before me, I used twice as many crushed tomatoes instead of the tomato sauce, and I added some celery and kidney beans and a bit of cinnamon. I can never go back to meat chili now.
