Flipline Studios (2024)

Flipline Studios is an American game development company founded in 2004 that is best known for its series of Papa Louie restaurant time-management games. It was founded by Matt Neff and Tony Solary.

History

During 2002-2003, before Flipline IDS was founded, Neff and Solary worked together on a Sidescrolling/RPG game called The Mawglin.

In 2004, Neff and Solary formed Flipline IDS (short for Interactive Design Studios). Their first product was a comic called Freezing Pointe.

Freezing Pointe was discontinued in 2006 when the company began their focus on creating Flash games. Flipline IDS was renamed to Flipline Studios. Papa Louie: When Pizzas Attack!was released in the same year.

On August 7, 2007, Flipline Studios unveiled their website^[1] and released their first Gameria, Papa's Pizzeria.

Their first app game, Papa's Burgeria HD, was released in 2012.

Trivia

For privacy reasons, Tony and Matt appear on their site as characters they designed for themselves and use to insert themselves into the games. They have made appearances in the games from Papa's Burgeria onwards.
TonyandMattinitially wanted to name the company Flipline Design because they planned to do web design, but decided against it once they graduated from college,calling the name "a little to [sic] rhyme-y".^[5]
