Is There a Way to Save Hardened Maple Syrup? (1)

Q: I have some maple syrup that is beyond crystals — it’s like pieces of quartz with a little syrup. Should I pitch it or is there some way to save it?

Editor: There might be! The first thing we suggest is placing the bottle in a very hot water bath. If that doesn’t help, your next option is to splash the hardened maple crystal with hot water, a small amount at a time, until you see it begin to melt. If that still doesn’t get you the results you want, you might consider getting out your hardiest Microplane and grating maple over your pancakes!
