Did anyone else finish The Pitt and then immediately have an all-consuming urge to binge every other medical drama in existence? Or was that just my experience? After I finished that Max masterpiece, I was relieved to discover a brand new medical drama on Netflix: Pulse. Sure, Pulse isn’t quite as realistic as The Pitt, but I found it thoroughly entertaining… It only took me about three days to finish the season.
The series is actually Netflix’s first-ever English language medical drama, and it follows a group of ER residents who deal with personal drama and medical crises at the fictional Maguire Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center in Miami. At the beginning of the season, Dr. Danny Simms is promoted to chief resident after accusing Dr. Xander Phillips of sexual harassment. We find out everything that happened between them via flashbacks throughout the 10 episodes.
The first season ends on multiple cliffhangers and I’m already dying to know what happens next, of course. For now, The Resident (another medical drama currently on Netflix), is keeping me occupied, but when I’m done blowing through the six seasons of that, I’m gonna need more Pulse. Will There Be A Season 2 Of Netflix’s Pulse? Release Date Info
I fear Netflix has yet to confirm a season 2 of Pulse, so keep manifesting it, people! I know I am. If we do get another season, I’m guessing it would happen sometime in 2026. “We have some really wonderful actors and some fun stories that we’re really interested in exploring,” executive producer Carlton Cuse teased during an interview with TV Guide. “Hopefully we’re going to get a Season 2.”
With 48 percent critic and 56 percent audience scores, the reviews are admittedly not amazing, but I’m praying Netflix doesn’t give up on this medical drama just because some people have no taste. Hot people, romance, conflict… I mean, what’s not to like?
Pulse Netflix Season 2 Plot
Season 1 left off with Danny dropping her harassment complaint and reconciling with Xander. “There’s still a lot that’s unresolved between Phillips and Danny, and that’s the way we wanted to leave it at the end,” Carlton explained. “There’s a real kind of bittersweet, connected sense that exists between them, but they’re not together.” He noted that season 2 would offer an opportunity to explore the other characters’ storylines with “a lot more depth.”
That’s what I’m hoping for! I certainly need more of the Danny and Xander saga, but there’s lots more to unpack, too. There’s the whole plot twist of Sam landing the chief resident position instead of Danny, and we need to know WTF is happening with Tom. Is he gonna get sued or fired for falling in love with his patient? Most importantly, we absolutely need more of the Sophie and Camila love story. I feel like Sophie was about to confess her feelings right before she found out that Camila’s engaged.

This is obviously TBD, since there’s no confirmation of a second season yet. However, if we should be so lucky, I’d expect the following icons to return: Willa Fitzgerald (Danny Simms), Colin Woodell (Xander Phillips), Jessie T. Usher (Sam Elijah), Jessy Yates (Harper Simms), Jack Bannon (Tom Cole), Chelsea Muirhead (Sophie Chan), Daniela Nieves (Camila Perez), and Justina Machado (Natalie Cruz).
