I sometimes feel a little guilty for constantly posting dessert recipes. I have a giant sweet tooth, {and obsession for cookies} so to be completely honest…it is an excuse to make what I love. In turn, I hope that you love it too but I also know that there is more to life that dessert. WAIT!! I don’t really believe that!! But I do know that we can’t always eat cake. So I am working on bringing you more dinner recipes. Pork chops are a house favorite and these Sweet Asian Glazed Pork Chops are one we keep going back to.

I think I have said it before but for years I didn’t make a lot of pork. It was dry and didn’t always have the best flavor. Then I started making this recipe and I am not looking back. I love that it comes together quickly and that the glaze {although a little sweet} is so full of flavor. It makes the recipe everything it is!

Sweet Asian Glaze

You can do this step in a bowl and whisk it but I prefer to add the ingredients to a small jar and shake…shake…shake! Only 4 ingredients but a TON of flavor.

Preparing the Glazed Pork Chops

There is not any salt and pepper added to the glaze, so be sure to season both sides of each chop.

Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a large skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Once the oil is warm, add the pork chops and let them brown for 4 minutes. Turn and let them sear on the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes.

Once the pork chops are cooked, remove them from the pan. Whisk the glaze, being sure to get any brown bits that might be on the bottom of the pan because that is flavor.

Pour glaze over cooked chops and serve.

The glaze will soak into the chop and flavor it nicely. It also keeps it moist and tender. I love to serve it with my Homemade Macaroni and Cheese or Roasted Melting Potatoes. Sweet Asian Glazed Pork Chops are a keeper and I can’t wait for your family to try them too!

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops {thick cut}
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic {minced}
  • 3 tsp soy sauce
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil {I used olive oil}

Instructions

Glaze

  • In a small jar, combine honey, lime juice, garlic and soy sauce. Put lid tightly onto jar and shake to combine. Set aside. NOTE: You can do this step in a bowl with a whisk.

  • In a large skillet, heat oil. While the oil is heating, season both sides of the pork chops. Once the oil is heated, carefully add them to the skillet and let them brown for 4 minutes. Once they are browned on the first side, flip them over and sear the second side for an additional 3-4 minutes. Reduce heat to low and add glaze. Simmer the chops in the glaze for an additional 6-8 minutes {depending on thickness} or until the chops are cooked through. Remove chops. Use a whisk to remove any small bits from the bottom of the pan and then pour the glaze over the chops. Serve warm.
