I have to thank Sen. Chuck Grassley, one of the speakers at the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant. He introduced me to the term 7-11 Songs. He explained that those are songs (or praise music choruses) which have seven words that have to be sung 11 times. He said that he prefers the old songs, with richer diction, ideas and melodies; but he acknowledged that his church in Iowa has grown a lot since changing to 7-11 Songs and dropping "Baptist" from its name.
